Congratulations to Ilene Gillispie for winning the $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior towards college expenses.

A member of the National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Society, Spanish Honor Society and Drama Thespians
Ilene participated in her first MVCCT production at the age of nine, portraying Ms. Rita, the missionary lady,
in “Mr. Popper’s Penguins.”
She had four roles during elementary and middle school.
In the spring of 2004, she was cast as Marilla in “Anne of Green Gables” and, later in the
year, as Ida in “HONK!”
In the fall, she will be attending New College of Florida, a small, nontraditional liberal arts school
in Sarasota, FL. Ilene is considering a double-major in psychology and gender studies, while
continuing her studies in music and Spanish.
